What is a Community Cat?
The terms "community," "feral," "stray," "loosely-owned," and "semi-feral" represent the diverse and often misunderstood population of cats that exist in our communities. While these cats may not have a traditional human owner, or have what we consider to be a traditional home, their well-being should still be a concern for us all. At Southwest Cat Initiative, our goal is to challenge conventional thinking and provide a fresh perspective on the complex dynamics surrounding community cats. By offering information on innovative approaches like Trap-Neuter-Return, we aim to improve the lives of community cats while also alleviating the strain on animal shelters and preserving the lives of shelter cats and kittens. Together, we can make a difference and ensure a better future for all cats.
