Southwest Cat Initiative (SWCI) is partnering with shelters and animal welfare organizations across New Mexico to provide spay and neuter services to low-income families and community cats.

Does your shelter or rescue organization have a veterinary clinic not currently being utilized?

Until Southwest Cat Initiative is able to fund it’s own building and trap depots, we are looking for space to hold our spay and neuter clinics. This space should have adequate space for an area to safely contain traps and kennels during intake and recovery, an area to prep for surgery, space for at least 1 or 2 surgery tables, and have the ability to utilize electricity to help keep our patients warm while they recover. If you have, or know of, space that is being under-utilized, contact us today!

Is your community struggling to provide veterinary services to spay and neuter community cats in your area?

We know it’s tough to find affordable surgery for your cats and those community cats in your area and it’s even harder in areas that are in more rural areas of New Mexico. SWCI wants to help bridge this gap. Right now we’re looking for communities in need to host spay and neuter clinics for both owned cats and community cats. If you are in a community with a need, have a space that can be used as a space to host a clinic, and have folks who are able to trap and return cats - we can help! Click HERE to contact us and see how we can get a clinic scheduled in your community.

Do you or your organization have resources to share but no access to a veterinary staff?

We can help! SWCI has the veterinary team, including a full-time veterinarian licensed in the State of New Mexico who can make spay and neuter happen. As we are a brand new organization we are in need of financial support. With your help, we can team together and create a lasting impact in communities around New Mexico.
